For pet owners
Insurance for businesses. Coverage for you.
At a Caval-insured facility, you and your pet are covered by Caval Direct.1
Launches 20282
How it works
Deal with Caval.
Not the facility.
Other providers
- —Facilities are discouraged from filing claims out of fear of rising premiums.
- —A four-step claims process delays payments by weeks or months.
- —If the facility refuses to file, you have no direct recourse with the carrier.
- —Vet bills come out of your pocket while everyone else decides what's covered.
With Caval Direct
- +You file a claim directly with Caval's experienced agents.
- +After verification, Caval reimburses you directly.
- +Licensed agents respond to your claim within hours of filing.5
- +Eligible claims are covered without requiring proof of negligence by the facility.7

- 1Coverage subject to policy limits, exclusions, and Caval Direct product terms in effect at the time of incident. Coverage applies only to incidents occurring at a facility whose active Caval policy includes Caval Direct. Maximum per-incident reimbursement to be defined at product launch.
- 2Product roadmap, not a binding commitment. Launch timing may shift based on regulatory approval, reinsurance arrangements, and market conditions.
- 3Coverage categories shown are illustrative. Final eligibility, limits, deductibles, and exclusions will be defined in the issued policy and determined by Caval at the time of claim. Caval Direct does not cover pre-existing medical conditions, elective or cosmetic veterinary procedures, incidents at facilities not covered by Caval, intentional harm or gross negligence by the pet owner, or claims filed outside the policy-defined reporting window.
- 4Claims must be reported to Caval within the policy-defined reporting window following the incident. Eligibility determined at the time of claim.
- 5Response time targets are measured during normal business hours. Response during non-peak hours, weekends, and federal holidays may extend. Caval does not guarantee specific response times for individual claims.
- 6Reimbursement under this category is conditioned on the death occurring during care at a Caval-covered facility and being attributable to facility negligence, unsafe conditions, or failure to provide reasonable care. Natural causes, pre-existing conditions, and deaths outside the facility's direct care are excluded. Final eligibility determined by Caval at time of claim.
- 7No-fault structure means eligible claims are paid without requiring the pet owner to establish facility negligence. Coverage remains subject to policy limits, exclusions, and Caval's determination of eligibility at the time of claim. A no-fault designation does not waive policy terms, reporting requirements, or coverage exclusions described elsewhere in the policy and these footnotes.
